Where did you grow up?
I grew up in the Bronx, which is one of the five boroughs of New York City. I lived in an apartment building. We had one bedroom so my brother and I shared the bedroom and my parents had a pull out sofa in the living room. My dad past away when I was nine and my Mom raised my older brother and I on a very tight budget.
Tell us about your family.
My Mom taught us by example. She had three brothers and they all had a great respect for each other. They visited every weekend and all the cousins got to play together while the adults visited. I have been married to a wonderful man, my husband Ed, for 34 years. I have two fantastic sons Scott (27) and Eric (25), one brother, a sister-in-law, a beautiful niece and a bunch of first cousins whom I am very close with to this day. Again, thanks to my Mom and my Uncles who kept us close growing up.
What are your interests and favorite hobbies?
I love music, being out on our boat, and going out to our favorite restaurants. I also love helping people attain their dreams, which is why being in real estate sales was a perfect fit for me. Still, I always dreamed of having my own business.
What has been your biggest accomplishment?
My biggest accomplishment has been raising 2 great human beings, who are kind and compassionate. I am most proud of that.
What inspires you?
People who are willing to take a risk in the face of adversity inspires me.
What has prepared you the most for creating your company?
It has really been the culmination of all my life experiences, the willingness to try something new and work through the difficulties. If I had to pick one thing that prepared me the most I would say learning to wear many hats at once. Working outside the home as a business manager and then a realtor while keeping the family my number one priority was a balancing act. You learn how to prioritize, organize and make things happen. It can be stressful at times. At this point in my life everything was well worth it since I am very content with where I am today.
